Free Stuff

Tools

(Updated) Cheap and easy Distance and Bearing tool.  This will calculate the distance and bearing between two GPS points.  You can enter either decimal degrees or Degrees:Minutes  (123.50 = 123:30).  If you enter your COG and SOG it will also calculate your VMG time to mark and ETA in Local and GMT+1.  North and East are positive and its pretty self explanatory.  Free=No support.

NMEA Data Simulator is a C# windows application that will simulate the output of an NMEA device and send the data to the screen, a file and/or a serial port.

There is no documentation included but it's pretty straight forward.  Since its free there is also only minimal support, if you need help send Support a note and we'll do what we can.

NMEA Data Recorder

The NMEA Data Recorder does just that.  It's a c# windows app that listens to the COM port you tell it to at the baud rate you tell it and dumps the data it receives to a text file on the C drive, the name is "GPS" with the date and the time the recording started.  Pretty straight forward.

Our hardware outputs via USB but the recorder will also work with a serial (rs-232) to USB converter but you'll need to make sure you install the drivers first.

Make the hardware connection first then start the app.  It will check for the available ports.

PHRF Timer

PHRF Timer is a Windows Mobile 5 application that provides a 5 minute countdown timer then starts timing your race.  As time accumulates it displays the amount of time you own and time you are owed based on PHRF ratings you enter in an XML configuration file.  Simple to use and easy to read it's pretty self explanatory.

Blender Model Files

Do you want to create your own models?  If you use the free open source Blender 3D modeling software you can download the blender files we use for the standard models.

You can find additional models on our Model page

Race Analysis Models:

These are DirectX X-files the Race analysis application uses to render the boats and static objects such as buoys.  Most of these models are included with the installation.

All of these models were created using the free open source 3D Modeling Software called Blender.

If you'd like copies of the .blend files send us a note and we'll email them to you.
